Privacy Policy
Heartratecheck.app (“we”, “us”, “the Service”) lets you check your heart rate in your browser. This policy explains what we do and don’t collect. The Service is for general wellness only and is not a medical device.
Your camera and your measurements
When you use the tool, your device’s camera reads your pulse. This is processed entirely on your device, in your browser. We never upload, record, or store your camera feed, and we never store your heart rate results on our servers. When you close or leave the page, the camera turns off and nothing is kept. Access to your camera requires your permission, which you can revoke at any time in your browser settings.
Information we collect
We collect very little. We do not require an account. We may collect:
- basic usage and device analytics (such as pages visited, approximate region, browser type, and referring site) to understand and improve the Service;
- only if you choose to submit it, an email address you provide to receive information or updates.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and for privacy-friendly analytics through Google Analytics (GA4). You can control cookies through your browser, and where required we ask for your consent first.
How we use information
We use the limited data above to operate and improve the Service, keep it secure, and — if you opted in — send you the updates you requested. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service (such as hosting and analytics), under agreements that limit their use of it, and where required by law.
Data retention
Analytics data collected through Google Analytics (GA4) is retained for up to 14 months. Any email you submit is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
International users
We operate globally, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
